Evening Prayer Service to Conclude Cooperation Agreement

You are cordially invited to the concluding service of the joint training cooperation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony (EVLKS) at the Wittenberg Seminary. The service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Wittenberg Castle Church with Bishop Dr. Christian Stäblein, Bishop Tobias Bilz, and Bishop Frank Kopania. A reception will follow in the Christine Bourbeck House.

Farewell Service

You are cordially invited to the service of farewell for the lecturers and study directors: Pastor Oliver Fischer, Pastor Stefan Günther, and Pastor Dr. Barbara Zeitler, on Jubilate Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Wittenberg Castle Church. The sermon will be given by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Wittenberg Evangelical Seminary, Bishop Dr. Christian Stäblein. The dismissal will be carried out by the head of the UEK's administrative district, Bishop Frank Kopania.

Castle Church History

From the visitor center, you can access the permanent exhibition in the connecting corridor to the west tower of the castle. Here you can learn many interesting facts about the history of the castle.

30 Years of World Heritage

In 1996, the castle church was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as an almost completely preserved prime example of 19th-century monument preservation. From 2012 to 2016, it was renovated and restored with funding from the State of Saxony-Anhalt, the Federal Republic of Germany, the European Union, and private donors.
